Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Pour 1 1/2 cups of long-grain brown rice into the prepared baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.
  3. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of kosher salt evenly over the rice and dot the top with 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, cut into small pieces.
  4. Carefully pour 2 3/4 cups of boiling water over the rice, ensuring all grains are submerged.
  5. Cover the baking dish tightly with a double layer of aluminum foil to trap the steam.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the water.
  7. Remove the dish from the oven, uncover, and fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.
