Method
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Pat the salmon fillet completely dry with paper towels and place it skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then brush this mixture evenly over the top and sides of the salmon.
Arrange the thin lemon slices over the top of the seasoned salmon fillet.
Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork at its thickest part.
Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes before sprinkling with fresh parsley and serving.
Notes
Patting the salmon dry is key for a better sear. Let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
