Method
In a food processor, pulse the black beans until they are mashed but still have some texture.
In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Transfer the onion and garlic mixture to the food processor with the black beans. Add the breadcrumbs, cumin, paprika, and salt. Pulse until well combined.
Form the mixture into 4 patties.
Heat the skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and heated through.
Serve the patties on burger buns with lettuce, tomato, and avocado.
