  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
