Method
Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour, and mixing on low speed until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with your spatula.
Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
