Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves, packed
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Equipment

  • blender
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • pitcher
  • citrus juicer
  • serving glasses

Method

  1. Rinse the cilantro leaves thoroughly under cold water to remove dirt, then pat dry with a clean towel.
  2. In a blender, combine the cilantro, lime juice, sugar, and salt. Blend on high for 15–20 seconds until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. Press with a spoon to extract liquid and discard solids.
  4. Add the cold water to the strained juice and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if needed.
  5. Add ice cubes to serving glasses and pour the cilantro lime juice over the top. Serve immediately.
  6. For deeper flavor, chill the juice for 30 minutes before serving. Stir again before pouring.

Notes

For a sugar-free version, use stevia or apple cider vinegar for depth. Blend gently to avoid bitterness and always strain for a smooth finish. Add mint or basil for a flavor twist.
