Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Equipment

  • large mixing bowl
  • ice cream maker
  • airtight container
  • freezer-safe spatula or spoon

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt and sugar until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Stir in the lemon juice and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the milk and heavy cream to create a smooth, creamy mixture.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, about 20–25 minutes, until thick and frozen.
  5. Transfer the frozen yogurt to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up before serving.
  6. Let sit at room temperature 5 minutes before scooping. Serve with toppings or fresh fruit.

Notes

For fruity versions, try swirling in mashed berries or mango before churning. To reduce sugar, use stevia or monk fruit, or add sweetness with ripe banana. Press parchment on the surface before freezing to prevent crystals. Serve with fresh fruit or layer into parfaits with granola.
