Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
  • 3 cups cold water
  • ice cubes
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a simmer. Remove from heat and add green tea bags. Steep for 3–5 minutes, then discard the bags.
  2. Stir in the sugar until dissolved. Allow sweetened tea to cool to room temperature.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea, lemon juice, and 3 cups cold water. Stir well.
  4. Taste and adjust with more sugar or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Fill glasses with ice, pour over the green tea lemonade, and garnish with mint or lemon slices. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap sugar with stevia or agave. Try adding fresh basil or thyme for an herbal twist. To elevate your presentation, freeze mint leaves and lemon wheels into ice cubes!
