Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 large garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Equipment

Method

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until fully liquid and foamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook until fragrant and lightly golden, stirring frequently, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Pour in the honey and soy sauce, then whisk continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  4. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce slightly thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and black pepper until fully incorporated.
  6. Use immediately as a glaze for meats or vegetables, or let cool slightly before serving.
