Method
In a small saucepan, combine the honey, water, and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, about 3 minutes.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 5 minutes without stirring, until the syrup thickens slightly.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the softened butter, vanilla extract, and salt until fully incorporated and smooth.
Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes to thicken further, stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.
Drizzle the warm honey trick over pancakes, waffles, or ice cream, or transfer to a jar and store at room temperature for up to 1 week.
