Learn how to make creamy, homemade Peanut Butter with just roasted peanuts and salt. Perfect for sandwiches, smoothies, or straight from the spoon.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups roasted unsalted peanuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons peanut oil or neutral oil (optional)

Equipment

  • food processor
  • blender
  • spatula

Method

  1. Add the roasted peanuts to a food processor or high-speed blender.
  2. Process the peanuts on high for 1 minute, scraping down the sides with a spatula as needed, until the peanuts form a coarse meal.
  3. Continue processing for 2 to 3 minutes, stopping occasionally to scrape the sides, until the mixture becomes a thick paste.
  4. Add the salt and honey (if using) and process for another 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. If the peanut butter is too thick, add 1 tablespoon of oil and process until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Transfer the peanut butter to a clean, airtight jar or container and store in the refrigerator.
