This watermelon basil juice is summer in a glass—refreshing, hydrating, and just the right balance of sweet and herbaceous. With chilled watermelon, fragrant basil, lime, and a hint of honey, it’s your go-to drink for warm days or elegant gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed and chilled
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp honey or agave syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. In a blender, combine chilled watermelon, basil leaves, lime juice, honey, and salt. Blend on high until smooth, about 1 minute.
  2. Add ice cubes and blend again until frothy, about 30 seconds.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness with more honey or lime juice if desired.
  4. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher for a smoother texture (optional).
  5. Serve over fresh ice in tall glasses. Garnish with a basil leaf and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use ice-cold watermelon for a naturally chilled juice. You can skip the honey if your watermelon is sweet enough. Pulse the basil lightly to avoid bitterness and strain for a smooth finish. Make the base ahead and blend with ice before serving!
