In short

  • You can read and cook every recipe without an account or a sign-up.
  • We collect only what you choose to send us through the contact form, and the technical information every browser sends when it loads a page.
  • Our advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, they do so only with your consent, and you can change your choices at any time with Privacy settings.
  • You have rights over your information wherever you live. Section “Your rights” explains them and how to use them.

Who we are

EasyCooks Recipes (easycooksrecipes.com) publishes this website and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through our contact form.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, the topic you choose and your message. To stop abuse, we also store a scrambled code computed from your IP address and the date with a secret key that is never saved: it cannot be turned back into your address, and it changes every day.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, our servers receive technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the type of browser and device, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. We use it to deliver pages, keep the site secure and fix problems. Our hosting and network providers process it on our behalf.

We count how many times each recipe is viewed each day, to show lists such as “Most popular”. This count uses no cookies and we store nothing with it that could identify you.

Settings saved on your device

Some choices you make, such as the light or dark theme and the ingredients you have checked off in a recipe, are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are still there next time. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.

Information collected by advertising partners

Our advertising partners use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, an approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you view, the ads you see and click, and your consent choices. They use it to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, personalize ads.

How we use information, and why

Your consent where the law requires it; otherwise our legitimate interest in funding the site, which you can object to.

Consent on this site is managed by the consent platform of our advertising partner, Ezoic. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent window asks for your choices before advertising cookies are used for purposes that need consent. In some US states, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link appears at the bottom of every page.

You can review or change your choices at any time. Our cookie policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on the site.

Advertising partners

We work with Ezoic Inc. to show ads on our recipe and listing pages. Ezoic and the advertising companies it works with, such as ad exchanges and ad networks, decide how they use the information they collect and are responsible for it under their own privacy policies. The consent window lists these companies and what they do.

The following information about Ezoic’s services is provided by Ezoic:

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which recipes are read and how visitors find us. It sets cookies and receives your IP address, device information and the pages you view. Where the law requires it, Google Analytics runs only after you consent, and you can withdraw that consent with Privacy settings.

We never sell or rent the messages you send us, or the names and email addresses in them.
